Ask what the report actually covers
When requesting evidence for a V1 injection pen project, receiving a report is only the beginning of the review. The key question is whether its scope supports the specific requirement being considered for the proposed configuration.
This is a document-screening workflow for buyers. It does not interpret a particular report, establish conformity or determine market authorization. Those decisions belong to the qualified reviewers responsible for the project.
Match the tested item to the proposed supply
Record the report identifier, issuing organization, issue date and revision. Look for a clear description of the tested item and its configuration. Ask how that item relates to the V1 model in your quotation, including any relevant component or material differences.
If the report concerns a product family, ask for the rationale connecting the proposed configuration to the tested configuration. Do not assume applicability solely because the report title or photograph resembles the catalog listing.
Keep evidence types separate. A manufacturing quality-system document, a product inspection record and a configuration-specific test report answer different questions. One should not be substituted for another without the responsible reviewer's explanation.
Review method, results and limitations together
Ask which requirement the test was intended to assess, what method was used and what acceptance criteria were applied. The technical reviewer should assess whether the method and conditions are relevant to the project.
Read the results together with the tested conditions and any exclusions. A pass statement without that context may be insufficient for a purchasing decision. Request clarification when pages, appendices or referenced configuration details are missing.
Do not summarize a limited result as a universal performance promise. If a conclusion applies only to an identified combination or condition, retain that qualification in the project record.
Turn the review into a gap list
Use a gap record containing the requirement, available evidence, applicability assessment and remaining action. Assign technical questions to the appropriate reviewer and commercial document requests to the supplier contact.
Keep original documents and the review outcome with the controlling specification. If the configuration changes, revisit evidence applicability rather than automatically carrying forward approval.
