Set the purpose before arranging the visit
A factory visit for a V1 injection pen sourcing project should answer questions that matter to the order. A general tour can introduce the supplier, but it may leave the buyer uncertain about the actual configuration, production scope and controls being offered.
Prepare a short list of objectives before the meeting. Examples include understanding which activities are performed at the site, how the selected configuration is identified and what records can support the agreed purchasing requirements. These are questions to investigate, not claims about PLZ facilities.
Follow the selected model through the discussion
Provide the exact V1 product reference and project configuration in advance. Ask the supplier to explain the activities relevant to that item, including any steps performed elsewhere. Distinguish current practice from proposed arrangements for a future customized order.
Ask how the team identifies the controlling drawings, approved artwork and packing instructions at each relevant stage. Request a demonstration using information the supplier is permitted to share. Evidence tied to the selected model is more informative than an unrelated production example.
Clarify who owns the answers to technical, quality and commercial questions. A sales presentation may identify a topic that needs follow-up from another team rather than resolving it during the tour.
Observe and record within an agreed scope
Agree on the visit agenda, attendees and permission for photographs or document copies. Avoid recording other customers' information. If a requested record cannot be shared, note the limitation and discuss an appropriate alternative with the supplier.
Write observations separately from conclusions. For example, seeing an inspection activity establishes that the activity was observed at that time; it does not automatically demonstrate consistent control across every order. Ask what supporting records or procedures the responsible reviewer needs.
For a remote evaluation, request targeted explanations and evidence rather than treating a promotional video as a substitute for every visit objective.
Close with actions rather than a general impression
Create a follow-up record containing the question, observation, evidence reference, owner and due date. Resolve contradictions before using the visit to support a supplier decision.
Have the appropriate internal team assess whether the objectives were met and what remains open. To arrange a project-focused discussion, send PLZ the V1 model, proposed quantities, evaluation objectives and preferred meeting format: https://www.plzmedical.com/en/contact
